Kanna Kiru — Articulated Ground
Project Overview
Kanna Kiru takes inspiration from wood shavings in Japanese carpentry. In this form-finding exercise, the process involved cutting slits of paper along a rectangular grid and folding it into itself. This birthed a park that integrates public amenities directly from the terrain: seating, tables, and shelters emerge organically. Meanwhile, the negative spaces metamorphose into tranquil ponds and lush green areas, offering a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal.
